cupping

What is Cupping?

Cupping is a soft tissue mobilization technique that began in ancient Egypt and China. Whereas massage and most soft tissue techniques involve applying light to deep pressure to the tissue,

cupping utilizes negative pressure to distract the tissue as it stretches.

How Does Cupping Work?

We use a technique that moves the cups along the muscle fibers to enhance the stretch while preventing the bruising that can be caused by static cup placement. The area to be treated is placed in a position of comfortable stretch. The cup is then applied on lotioned skin. The gentle movement of the cup produces a very comfortable tugging sensation to the affected area.
