Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a technique that can be used in conjunction with other forms of manual therapy to enhance outcomes. A stainless steel instrument is used to identify and treat areas that exhibit fascial restrictions in order to improve range of motion and decrease pain.
How Does IASTM Work?
Application of the instrument stimulates a local inflammatory response initiating the healing process to the affected area.
